The Enugu State Police Command of the Nigeria Police has vowed to arrest the policemen who were accused of manhandling a masquerade and its followers at Agbani, in Nkanu West Local Government Area of the State. The Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Lawal, gave the order in a statement on Saturday morning, titled, ‘Alleged viral video clip of police operatives physically assaulting citizens at Agbani area of Nkanu West LGA Enugu: CP condemns act, orders thorough investigation and sanction of erring operatives’. Lawal described the action of the policemen as unprofessional and against extant operational codes of the Nigeria Police Force and the fundamental human rights of citizens. He, therefore, urged residents who witnessed the incident to provide the police with useful information on the v ideo of the assualtthat went viral on InstablogN9ja, he said such information will aid the investigation. aid the investigation.
