There has been tension in the Oke Afa, Magboro area of Ogun State after a woman, Edeth Favour, was stabbed to death by her lover during an altercation. The man, who residents could not identify by name, has reportedly fled the area. The incident, which occurred last week Tuesday, had caused panic as policemen continually raided youths in the area in a bid to get the runaway lover.

There was commotion on Sunday at the United Methodist Church, Mafoluku, in the Oshodi area of Lagos as members of the church rejected their pastor and chased him away for allegedly impregnating his housemaid. It was learnt that the pastor, Barkuma Andrew, was stopped from leading the church seven months ago when the housemaid, who was also a member of the church, Grace, had complications after aborting the pregnancy.

The police have arraigned one Joshua Kolawole and Ademola Adeleke for allegedly impersonating a Christ Apostolic Church pastor and defrauding a restaurateur in Yaba, Lagos. The suspects were arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court, Yaba, Lagos. Kolawole and Adeleke were said to have defrauded a restaurant manager, one Kehinde Sulaimon on August 6, 2015. On the day of the incident, Kolawole was said to have disguised as a pastor, while Sulaimon posed as another victim.

Vanguard newspaper Columnist,  Donu Kogbara has been abducted in Port Harcourt by unknown gunmen. The state Police Public relations officer, DSP Ahmed Muhammad confirmed the ugly development, saying police was on the trail of the kidnappers. Dornu Kogbara who maintains a column in the Vanguard was whisked away in the early hours of Sunday by unknown gunmen   at her Nkpogu residence in a CRV jeep. It could not be confirmed if the kidnappers have established contact with the family for ransom at press time.

According to Channels Television report, another helicopter belonging to the Air force has crashed at the site of Old National Defence Academy, Kaduna. The Air force helicopter we gathered was on training fligh to Abuja from Kaduna before the incident. 7 Passengers and crew members on board reported dead.The helicopter was said to have crashed 10 minutes after take off around 6:47am.  NEMA and other rescue agents were seen at the crash scene.

Reality TV queen   Kim Kardashian   has revealed doctors could remove her uterus when she delivers her second baby. While she was pregnant with daughter North, now two, she suffered from placenta accreta, in which the placenta attaches itself to the uterus with blood vessels and is not completely expelled during the birth. Kardashian, 34, told C magazine: "They think I'll have placenta accreta again, so if the placenta grows a little bit deeper than it did last time, they are prepared to have my uterus removed, which is a little scary for me.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode Lagos State, Thursday, paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai to commiserate with him over the passage of his foster father, Malam Yahaya Hamza. Hamza, who was a renowned educationist and former Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education, passed on after a brief illness in the late hours of Tuesday.

Suspected bandits have shot dead 36 years old lawyer, Emmanuel Egwuatu at Eziokpor road, Obiaruku community in Delta Sate and snatched his Honda car.    According to V anguard,t his car with registration number, AKD 382 AA, broke down along Eziokpor road in the community and he was waiting for a mechanic to fix the car when the robbers struck.   

The National Universities Commission recently released a list of illegal degree awarding institutions operating in Nigeria. The list of these illegal universities was made available to the public in a NUC’s weekly bulletin dated August 24. In the bulletin, the NUC Executive secretary, Julius Okojie, warned that Certificates obtained from these universities and colleges will not be recognized for the purpose of NYSC, employment and further studies.” Full list below:

According to these disheartening report in Vanguard, thirty-Five years old Steven Anowa, from Njikoka Local Government Area in Anambra State, presently in police custody, in Akwa Ibom State, has related how he butchered 31-year-old Daniel Bassey Solomon, the brother of his girlfriend at his one-room apartment in Itu Street, Uyo, the state capital. Solomon hailed from Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. His killer, who is in the habit of changing residences, had just packed from Uruan where he met and started dating Solomon’s sister, about two years ago. The Lagos landlord, Sola Solomon, who allegedly set his tenant ablaze in the Idumota area of the state, has died. From a police source on Wednesday that the suspect died from the burns injuries he sustained while setting fire to the tenant, Abeeb Daraloye. Our correspondent had reported on Tuesday that Abeeb and his landlord had a disagreement over the use of the compound toilet.

The atmosphere at the Mobile Police Force 20, in the Ikeja area of Lagos, had been tense since Tuesday after a police inspector, identified simply as Medugwu, mistakenly shot himself dead, while adjusting a faulty rifle. The inspector, who was attached to MOPOL 20, was the second-in-command to the armourer. He was said to have accidentally pulled the trigger of the rifle, which sent a bullet to his jaw.

The Osinkola Ruling House has disagreed with the Giesi and Ogboru Ruling Houses on whose turn it is to produce the next Ooni. The leader of the Osinkola Ruling House, Prince Olakunle Aderemi, who led other members of the family to a press conference in Ile-Ife on Wednesday, said the race to fill the Ooni vacant stool was open to aspirants from the four ruling houses in Ile-Ife. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Wednesday stormed and occupied the Lagos house of Chika Egwu Udensi, a crew member of the Arik Air flight W3101, who was arrested with 20 kilogrammes of cocaine at the London Heathrow Airport. The NDLEA moved to the house after they had interrogated pilots and flight attendants of the flight that left the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos for London on Monday night. The interrogation lasted for several hours at the NDLEA head office in Lagos. It was gathered that soon after the interrogation, the NDLEA moved to the suspect’s house in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State.

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has distanced himself from the recent attacks against former Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State. Tinubu added that the attacks were being sponsored by the Peoples Democratic Party. Tinubu, who is a former governor of Lagos State, said this in a statement issued by his media office on Wednesday. Fashola, according to a report on the state government’s website, spent N78.3m on his personal website, www.tundefashola.com <http://www.tundefashola.com/> and N139m to construct two boreholes at the Lagos House, Ikeja, when he was governor.
