EPL: Real reason Abramovich handed over Chelsea

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, has given up his stewardship of the club in order to prevent it from “becoming hostage to anti-Russian sanctions”, according to a close friend of the billionaire. On Saturday, the Premier League side confirmed Abramovich has transferred his stewardship to the trustees of the club’s charitable foundation. Chelsea’s charitable foundation is led by the club’s chairman, Bruce Buck. Abramovich can continue to fund Chelsea, however, the inner workings of the club will remain unchanged, with Marina Granovskaia still in charge of football operations.

The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has said it is surprising how many Nigerians are willing and ready to join the Police. Hundeyin also revealed that many people have called and sent messages, asking when the Nigeria Police form would be out. The statement was contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle. He said he had thought everyone hated the Nigeria Police. He wrote, “Shey una dey whine me ni? “Everyday, I receive calls and messages asking, ‘When will the Nigeria Police form be out? I’m interested in joining the police.’ And here I was thinking everyone hated @PoliceNG Shout out to all our supporters'.
