Amenze Killed by Italian Husband, Did Not Visit Nigeria to Marry Father of Her Children, Family Refutes Claim
The family of Rita Amenze, the woman murdered in cold-blood in Italy by her Italian husband because she reportedly filed for divorce after returning from Nigeria where she allegedly got married to the father of her three children, have debunked the claim. Father of the children, Frank Akpoguma, and mother of the deceased, Faith Oyahiagbon, said there was no truth in the allegation, and challenged anyone with proof to provide it.
Amenze was on September 10, 2021 shot at close range at her work place by her husband, Pierangelo Pellizar, 61, for reportedly filing for divorce barely two weeks after she returned to Italy from Nigeria.
Amenze’s grieving family is therefore demanding justice, appealing to both the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the Italian Government to ensure that justice was served in the case. Members of the family made the call on Tuesday in Benin, Edo State, when a delegation of the Edo National Association in Italy, (ENAI) and the National Union of Nigerian Associations in Italy, (NUNAI) paid them a condolence visit.
