Police inspector slumps, dies while going to work
The inspector, who was identified as Amiel Dilli, was attached to the Trade Fair Complex Division of the Nigeria Police Force. A man, who said he knew the inspector but preferred to be anonymous, told our correspondent that Dilli had complained of not feeling well before he slumped and died on his way to work on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.
According to him, the man had been complaining of general body weakness, adding that he even asked to take some days off in order to go to the hospital.
He added that Dilli told him that he would manage the situation and that his condition would improve, noting that he and other friends only got to know that the situation was severe after he had slumped and died near the Oando filling station.
The source stated, “The inspector was close to me.
He complained of general body weakness and I advised him to go for a test. What
he told me was that the situation was not that serious and that he would manage
until he was strong again.
“I was surprised when I saw his lifeless body near
the Oando filling station at the Abule-Ado bus stop along the Lagos-Badagry
Expressway when I was going to work. The police responded promptly by
evacuating his corpse to their station.”
