Pasuma: I see myself becoming president of Nigeria

Wasiu Alabi Odetola, Nollywood actor and Fuji musician popularly known as Pasuma, says he sees himself becoming president of Nigeria to totally eradicate poverty.

Pasuma, who is also called Oganla by his fans, made his predictions known in a post on his Instagram page.

“I foresee myself becoming president of this great country so I will be able to erase poverty once and for all,” he wrote.

Pasuma came into limelight in 1993 when he released an album titled ‘Recognition’. He won the Best Fuji artiste of the year award in 1995 with the release of an album titled ‘Orobokibo’.

Pasuma, who celebrated his 50th birthday in November, is not the first or only celebrity to have indicated interest in politics.

At present, Desmond Elliot, Nollywood actor, is a member of the Lagos state house of assembly.

Ini Edo, Femi Adebayo and Mercy Johnson, all actors, currently serve as special advisers to the governors of Akwa Ibom, Kwara and Kogi respectively.

In 2017, Yul Edochie was the flagbearer and gubernatorial candidate for the Democratic People’s Congress. He lost to Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
