Brothers-in-law beat housewife to death in Katsina

The Police in Katsina have commenced investigation into the death of a housewife, Hadiza Salisu Dan Kasuwa, allegedly caused by her husband’s brothers.

The suspects, Shafiu Ibrahim and Fahad, were alleged to have used sticks to beat up the woman causing serious injuries and loss of blood that caused her death on Sunday in Danja LGA of the state.

Speaking on the matter, the spokesman of Katsina police command, DSP Gambo Isa, said the husband’s brothers alleged that the woman had severally abused their mother (her mother in law) following a misunderstanding between them.

“They attacked the woman in the night, left her in the pool of her own blood before she was rushed to hospital where doctors confirmed her dead,” he said.

Late Hadiza was married to her husband based in Abuja and blessed with four children. She was been buried Monday, he added.

The deceased’s father, Salisu Dan Kasuwa, said for long his daughter has been having problem with the mother-in-law because her husband is seriously in love with his wife to the detriment of the mother-in-law.

He said the family was not informed of her death until the police arrested the suspects, adding that she had severally returned home due to the persistent agony of the mother-in-law and her death happened only a day after she was returned to their matrimonial home.
