Gunmen Abducted Ikeja Local Government Clerk in Imota, Lagos

Gunmen on in the early hours of today kidnapped the Ikeja Local Government Clerk, Shamsideen Omotayo. spokesman for the local council secretariat, Bello Onilegbale told newsmen that the clerk was whisked away at Imota, near Ikorodu, while on his way to work.

According to him, Mr Omotayo’s kidnappers have contacted the council’s Head of Administration, Mosunmola Otaiku-Okoka.




He said they demanded N20 million ransom.

Meanwhile security officials say efforts to rescue him were ongoing.

The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has said it is surprising how many Nigerians are willing and ready to join the Police. Hundeyin also revealed that many people have called and sent messages, asking when the Nigeria Police form would be out. The statement was contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle. He said he had thought everyone hated the Nigeria Police. He wrote, “Shey una dey whine me ni? “Everyday, I receive calls and messages asking, ‘When will the Nigeria Police form be out?
