Father and his friend rape his 15-yr-old daughter
A 38-year-old man, Yusuf Oriyomi, and his friend,
Idowu Ayigoro, 42, were yesterday brought before an Ikeja chief magistrate’s
court, for allegedly sexually assaulting Oriyomi’s 15- year-old daughter.
The father is being tried for sexually assaulting
his own daughter, while his friend was arraigned for alleged sexual assault on
the same girl. The father, a baker, resides at 24, Ferry Close, and his friend,
a carpenter, resides at Arabamo Street, both in Oworoshoki, a suburb of Lagos.
The prosecutor, Inspector Clifford Ogu, told the
court that the offences were committed in 2012 and on April 30, 2017 at
Oworonshoki. Both have sexually assaulted the girl on different occasions, with
her father and his friend taking turns. Ogu said that the girl’s mother had
travelled to their village when the father woke her up at night and put his manhood between her thighs.
He said: “When the girl’s mother came, she told her and also narrated how her
father’s friend defiled her five years ago.
“Hence, the case was reported at the police
station by the mother and both accused were apprehended.” The offence
contravened Sections 137 and 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 The
accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, granted
the accused bail in the sum of N250,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.
Akanni adjourned the case until June 28 for mention.
