PDP will lose more senators – APC

Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, on Wednesday boasted that more senators from the country’s main opposition party will defect to it.

The Peoples Democratic Party had lost all the three Senators representing Ondo State at the upper chamber of National Assembly to APC, with Mr. Yele Omogunwa (Ondo South) the latest to defect.


Mr. Omogunwa’s letter, which formally announced his defection to the APC on Wednesday, generated ruckus at the Senate, with the Minority Leader of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, asking that the Ondo South’s seat  be declared vacant.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, however ruled Akpabio out of order.
APC, in a post via its Twitter handle @APCNigeria, begged other PDP senators to joined the party.

The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has said it is surprising how many Nigerians are willing and ready to join the Police. Hundeyin also revealed that many people have called and sent messages, asking when the Nigeria Police form would be out. The statement was contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle. He said he had thought everyone hated the Nigeria Police. He wrote, “Shey una dey whine me ni? “Everyday, I receive calls and messages asking, ‘When will the Nigeria Police form be out? I’m interested in joining the police.’ And here I was thinking everyone hated @PoliceNG Shout out to all our supporters'.
