Recession: Federal retirees demand review of pensions
Civil servants who have retired from the federal public service have demanded an upward review of the pension of civil servants nationwide in line with the provisions of the constitution.
The retirees under the aegis of Association of Federal Public Service Retirees, said the constitution provided that pensions should be reviewed every five years or anytime salaries of workers’ salaries were reviewed.

Chairman of the association, Geoffrey Chima, said the review had been due since
July 2015.
The retirees also
called on the Federal Government to pay the 33 percent increment in the
arrears of civil servants in the interest of equity and fairness.
