A woman was stopped at airport security for carrying her husband's intestines in her suitcase

I always think the people who work behind the scanner at airport security must have such a field-day looking at the crap people take on holiday. Bumper packs of condoms, vibrators, the lot. But imagine
the surprise of one airport security worker in Austria when he identified human organs in a case as it passed through for assessment.

The 35-year-old Moroccan woman in question, who was travelling from her native to Austria, where she had lived with her recently deceased husband for eight years, insists she had a genuine reason for carrying a four-inch section of her husband's intestine in her checked baggage.

And let's think of the positives here; at least she didn't try and take it as hand luggage. That wouldn't have been nice for anyone involved.
But when the woman was arrested for her odd choice of suitcase content, she explained to police that she was travelling to Europe with the organ to get it tested by Austrian doctors after suspecting her husband had been poisoned.

Telling authorities she was acting on the advice of a doctor in Marrakesh, who agreed that the woman's husband may well have been poisoned after going to a relative's house for dinner, she showed them how professionally wrapped the piece of intestine was.

And thankfully for her, it seems the officers believed her, and confirmed that she hadn't broken any Austrian laws by bringing the intestine with her into the country. So there you have it, if you ever fancy travelling to Austria with snippings of human organs in tow, you'll be on the right side of the law.
