FRENCH PRESIDENT IS THE FIRST WESTERN PRESIDENT TO VISIT EBOLA AFFECTED GUINEA
French President Francois Hollande is the first
Western leader to visit Ebola-affected West Africa.
Hollande is delivering a
message of solidarity to the people of Guinea. French Minister of State for
Development Annick Girardin is already in Guinea. He has opened a new Ebola
treatment centre in the country.
The facility was set up by France. Paris has
pledged millions of dollars to the fight against Ebola. It's also working on
vaccine trials and has focused most of its attention on former French colony
Guinea.
