Proud Dad; STEVEN GERRARD WILL BRING PHOTO OF HIS DAUGHTERS IN ENGLAND KITS WITH HIM AS HE PREPARES TO LEAD COUNTRY IN THE WORLD CUP
Steven Gerrard is taking a picture of his own three lions - daughters
Lilly-Ella, Lexie and Lourdes - in their England kits with him to Brazil as he
prepares to lead the team in the World Cup.
The England captain and his wife, Alex, posed for pictures
with their children before joining up with the national team.
Alex told Hello! magazine: ‘All the girls have the
England and new Liverpool kits with their names on the back, just like their
daddy. They are so cute!
‘Steven has taken a picture of them on his phone so he has it with him. Lourdes loves hers so much we can't get it off her, though. She wants to sleep in her England kit and cries if I try to take it off her when I'm dressing her for nursery.’
Alex said the pair had put their dreams of having a little boy, to follow her husband into the game, on the back burner.
She said: ‘I know Steven has said before he would like one but the chances of us having one is slim with having three girls. He laughs and says he can't risk it - it's going to cost him a fortune in weddings if we have another girl.’
Gerrard told the magazine he was ‘proud’ to lead the team to Brazil. He said: ‘It's what dreams are made of. The plan is to come back and make the country proud of the team.’
The family have made sure to spend plenty of quality time together ahead of the
World Cup and recently enjoyed a fun filled break in Dubai.
Alex was seen showing off her impressive bikini body as she
lounged by the pool and splashed about with her little ones in the water.
The WAG even treated herself to a cocktail or two as she
topped up her tan.
And showing just how close they are Alex has said she will
defy Roy Hodgson if England make it through to the later stages of the World
Cup, even though there is a potential ban on WAGS attending the International
tournament in June.
She previously told Hello!: ‘I’m not going at the moment,
but if it gets to the late stages I’ll definitely go then.'
On Sunday England touched down in the sweltering heat
of Miami on to begin the next phase of their World Cup preparations.
The 23-man party, led by Gerrard, will begin their
preparations for Wednesday's friendly against Ecuador with a training session
at Barry University on Monday.
