20-year-old wife stabs husband to death in Adamawa for coming home late
The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 20-year-old housewife for stabbing her 38-year-old husband to death.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Sikiru Akande, had directed clinical investigations into the incident for proper prosecution, explained that the suspect had engaged her husband in a brawl, for keeping late at night which eventually led to his death.
He explained that the suspect, Caroline Barka, a resident of Angwan Tamiya, in Madagali Local Government Area of the state, got into a physical brawl with her husband, following his return from one of his late night outings drunk.
The wife was said to have picked offence with the husband for falling on their one-year-old baby.
In the ensuing brawl, the suspect had allegedly taken a kitchen knife, which she used to stab the husband, resulting in his death.
She told authorities during investigations that she had been “angered by his drunkenness, habitual late night outings and failure to provide basic necessity as a husband”.
The man was said to have become unconscious after bleeding profusely, only to be pronounced dead at the hospital where he was rushed to for medical attention.
