According to SDK Blog, Nollywood actress Ini Edo is no longer married to American based business man Phillips Ehiagwina. The Marriage which was contracted in November 2008 is whispered to have been hopping on one leg before finally crashing over five weeks ago. A church building has collapsed at Asoro Slope, off Ekenwan Road in Benin, Edo State. The incident happened barely two weeks after a church building collapsed in Uzama Street, Off Oliha Quartres, in the Egor Local Government Area, leaving one person dead and injuring no fewer than three others. In the latest incident, the church auditorium, which belongs to the Liberty Power Bible Church Incorporated, was said to have collapsed around 1.30pm after a rainstorm on Sunday. Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), has accused the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, of breaching the provisions of the Company and Allied Matters Act through the use of a private jet belonging to a company in which he had interest to smuggle $9.3m cash to South Africa. Falana said by the provisions of CAMA, the jet which was allegedly registered for the facilitation of evangelism could not be leased to another company for commercial purpose, as CAN had said while defending Oritsejafor.   A lecturer in the Department of Animal Science, University of Calabar, Prof. Martins Isika, has died after presenting his manifesto for the position of the dean of the institution’s postgraduate school. The professor was said to have died at the Senate Chambers of the institution on Friday at about 2pm, shortly after reading his manifesto to nearly 300 delegates. Isika, who is in his 50s, became a professor some six months ago.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a woman, Ms Patience Aaron, for attempting to kill her new born baby girl. It was learnt that Aaron, an indigene of Afaha Abia village, in the Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of the state, on September 14, buried her one-day baby alive. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gabriel Achong, said during a press conference in Uyo on Thursday that the baby was rescued alive nearly five hours after she had been buried. “The state police detective on September14, 2014 arrested one Patience Aaron of Afaha Abia village in the Nsit Ibom LGA for attempting to kill the baby girl she gave birth to. “Patience buried her one-day-old baby in a shallow grave. The baby was rescued alive. Investigation is in progress,” he said. Suspects

  The President, Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria, Mallam Shehu Sani, has said that 70 per cent of problems bedeviling the North are caused by ex-presidents and leaders of northern extraction. The remaining 30 per cent, Sani said, should be attributed to President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration’s sectional leadership and neglect of the North. The Senate on Thursday approved President Goodluck Jonathan’s request to borrow a $1bn external loan to fight insurgency in the country. The decision was taken following the consideration of the report of the Senate Joint Committee on Finance, and that of Local and Foreign Debt, presented by the Chairman, Senator Ahmed Makarfi. ISIS-linked militants in Algeria have beheaded a French hostage captured at the weekend - having earlier made threats to kill him if France did not stop bombing targets in Iraq. Some illegal train passengers, who were hanging on a moving train at the Ikeja Along bus stop, Lagos have attacked two journalists, causing the death of one of them. The Defence authorities have confirmed the killing of the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, during one of the four encounters with insurgents in Kodunga, Borno State between September 12 and 17, 2014. The Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, said on Wednesday that the Federal Government was more interested in   Boko Haram members laying down their arms than in the said death of   Shekau.
