On Saturday, September 13, 2014, my sister got married at White House, Toyin Street Ikeja, Lagos. The mother of a 10-month-old baby has cried for help from Nigerians in order for the baby to see with his two eyes. A suspected cocaine dealer, Kingsley Agu, who was recently arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos has told operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency that he took to crime because he needed money to fund his father’s burial. It was   learnt that 30-year-old Agu was arrested with two others – Joseph Ezenna and Israel Okoye – for smuggling cocaine valued at N131m from Brazil. An excavator from a Chinese building site was drafted in to save a driver stranded in rising flood waters in China. A driver was lucky to escape alive moments before his 4x4 vehicle was washed away in flood waters. A Magistrate’s Court sitting at Isabo, Abeokuta, Ogun State, yesterday, remanded a herdsman, Mohammed Ibrahim, in prison custody for allegedly killing his friend, Abdullahi Saliu, for sleeping with his (Ibrahim) wife. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four policemen in connection with the death of a bus conductor, Ikechukwu Abarisim, who was crushed to death by a vehicle on Monday at Cele Bus stop along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. It was learnt that the deceased was allegedly dragged from the bus-which was in motion-by one of the policemen in an apparent attempt to arrest him. Another policeman, who was said to be driving another vehicle reportedly, crushed Abarisim’s head after he fell to the ground.

A man, Taofeek Adeyemo, has been arraigned before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ile-Ife, Osun State, for allegedly poisoning a guest at a public function. The prosecutor, Christian Olajide, a police sergeant, said the accused allegedly committed the offence between September 24 and October 1 at Ita-Osa Area, Ile-Ife, Osun State. Olajide told the court that the accused unlawfully killed Lukman Oyemola by putting herbicide in the local gin,   Pakurumo , which the deceased drank.

An unidentified suspected rapist has been killed in the Lekki area of Lagos State while attempting to rape a 22-year-old woman, Ifeoma Okechukwu. It was learnt that the incident happened on Monday, around 12.30pm, in Atlantic View Estate, Alpha Beach Road, Lekki. It appears the condition of four-year-old Omonigho Abraham, who was attacked by two dogs in the Igando area of Lagos State about a month ago, has worsened in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja where he is currently receiving treatment. It was   learnt from his father, Odia, that Omonigho’s scalp which was torn off by the German shepherd dogs during the gruesome attack, had not healed and had been giving off an offensive odour. A fresh crisis is brewing in the Peoples Democratic Party over the insistence of some of its members to contest its presidential primary with President Goodluck Jonathan.
