A Ghanaian man has cried out after he discovered his wife had extra-marital affair with her ex boyfriend just 3 days after their wedding. He shared his story with Hitz 103.9FM, and it was read by an OAP live on air. According to him, he found this out through her WhatsApp while on their honeymoon, just six days after their wedding. The husband saw messages from the ex and waited for her to reply him the next day, after she did, he confronted her and she begged him not to tell her family. It was eventually discovered that she was pregnant, but he believes it is not his because he only slept with her once and has not moved close to her since he made the discovery.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the replacement of Annual Performance Evaluation Review (APER) and promotion examinations for federal civil servants. This was disclosed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan during the end of Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council Meeting in Abuja. Mrs Yemi-Esan said that this would be included in the new Public Service Rules (PSR) which was last review in 2008. She further revealed that the chapter on Annual Performance Evaluation Review (APER) and promotions had been replaced by a new chapter on a newly introduced performance management system. There is also a chapter that has also been reinvigorated, that is, the chapter on training. This is an all important chapter because of the importance that training has in the public service." Mrs Yemi-Esan said. She added that the new PSR had also introduced the transition from paper service to a digital service.

President Muhammadu Buhari, has ordered the arraignment of a former acting Director-General of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi, Lagos, Chima Igwe. He directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission to begin the process of his prosecution for receiving salaries with a phantom doctorate for 18 years. The Nigerian Communications Commission says the October 31 deadline for linking their National Identity Numbers with their Subscriber Identity Modules remains sacrosanct. It also said that Nigerians without NIN would soon be denied the opportunity of acquiring driving licences and passports. The commission said at the NCC Digital Signature radio programme, which transmitted the second episode of Telecoms Consumer Town Hall on Radio (live on a radio station in Lagos to discuss benefits of NIN-SIM integration. Folasade Yemi-Esan, head of civil service of the federation, disclosed while briefing state house correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting. Yemi-Esan explained that paternity leave will allow fathers to properly bond with their newborn babies or adopted children. “We’ve gotten approval to include paternity leave. This is something that is new. And this is something that the unions in the service asked that we include, and luckily, we’ve been able to include it,” she said. “Paternity leave is the leave that is approved for men, when their spouses or wives have given birth to a newborn baby. Or if the husband and wife have just adopted a baby of less than four months, then the man is entitled to paternity leave of about 14 days. “So, that is what has been approved for men, so that the men and their babies also can bond well. Suspected killer herdsmen on Tuesday killed Chike Akunyili, a prominent medical doctor and husband of late public health expert and NAFDAC chief Dora. Mr Akunyili was returning to Enugu from a meeting in Onitsha when the gunmen opened fire on his vehicle, killing him instantly with his driver and police orderly, according to family sources interviewed by Peoples Gazette on Wednesday morning. About six people have been shot dead as members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN clashed with security agents at the Gwarinpa gate near Galadimawa in Abuja on Tuesday. The IMN members also known as ‘shiites ‘were about to round off their Arbaeen Symbolic Trek when joint security agents opened fire on them. Two Shiite members were allegedly shot by security operatives around a new generation bank along 3rd Avenue in Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja. Gunmen wearing masks have abducted a former Chief of Logistics, Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Sikiru Oladimeji Smith (rtd) in Lagos State. Gunmen have gone on rampage on two locations in Anambra State, killing two persons and wounding many at APC rally, and setting ablaze a car belonging to a leader of Professor Chukwuma Soludo group. Hoodlums have set ablaze a bus conveying tomatoes, vegetables and other foodstuff in Enugu east LGA of Enugu state. The Taliban have banned barbers in Helmand province in Afghanistan from shaving or trimming beards. The Taliban said shaving off beards breaches their interpretation of Islamic law. The Taliban police also said anyone caught violating the rule will be punished. According to the BBC, in a notice posted on salons in southern Helmand province, the Taliban officers warned that hairdressers must follow Sharia law for haircuts and beards. “No one has a right to complain,” the notice reportedly read. A classroom building of Nazareth High School, Imeko-Afon area of Ogun State has collapsed and killed one student. Two other students were also injured in the building collapses, The Councillor of Imeko Ward, Samuel Ojoawo, confirmed the incident. It was learnt that the building suddenly fell on the three students, killing one of them, Ilebiyi, on the spot, while the remaining two sustained injuries. The injured students were taken to hospital for treatment, while the deceased was said to have been buried, according to Islamic rites. The Councillor explained that the current administration of the council had ordered the total demolition of the building involved.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of London teacher Sabina Nessa. The 38-year-old was arrested in East Sussex in the early hours of Sunday. Nessa’s family have been informed of this “significant development”, the Metropolitan Police said. It is the third arrest police have made in connection with the 28-year-old’s death. Nessa, who taught at a primary school in southeast London, was attacked on the evening of 17 September after leaving her home in Kidbrooke to meet a friend at a nearby bar. Police said her walk to The Depot in Peglar Square, Kidbrooke Village, should have taken just over five minutes. The Road Haulage Association has accused the government of a “disgraceful attack” after it was blamed for sparking panic buying at petrol stations. It was a moment of grief in Umueze 11, Ehime Mbano Local Government of Imo State as a family of four allegedly connived and murdered their last child, Mr Chukwuebuka aged 28, for being stubborn and giving them sleepless night. The two Ekiti lovers kidnapped on Sunday, less than a week to their wedding, have regained their freedom from the gunmen. Sources said the two lovers were freed around Ayedun area of Ekiti State on Thursday after payment of ransom. “Their engagement was billed for Friday and Saturday (yesterday) for the wedding proper,” a source said. The pit-bull dog known as Charlie, owned by Abass Olagunju, 24, a 400-level Animal Science student at the Faculty of Agriculture, Adekunle Ajasin University. Opeyemi Sadiq, who was running to meet the owner of the dog, at their hostel in Vanilla Villa Permanent Site, Akungba was attacked by Charlie. The bite affected the skin of his scrotum. He was immediately rushed to Inland Specialist Hospital, Ikare, where he was treated and discharged.
