The Rivers State police Command has revealed that criminals have devised means of robbing unsuspecting members of the public. The Command in a statement signed by the PPRO, Ahmad Mohammad warned the public to be wary of criminals who disguise as passengers, kidnap their victim and make them withdraw some money with their ATM cards before they are released. Members of the public are hereby advised to be distrustful of any taxi with two or three young men on board and desist from the habit of moving about with their ATM card on them unless it is most necessary, please”. While stressing that many people had fallen victim of such acts, the command hinted that the criminals make use of cabs to perpetrate the act. According to the statement, “The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of the new technique employed by criminals to access their victim’s bank account. “The unsuspecting victim is usually abducted, be forced to reveal his ATM PIN number

Please this is a true story which happened just few days ago. My friend advertised for sale of a car and put the price at N2,700,000.00 . A prospective customer called and was given direction on how to get to where the car was parked. He observed the car and informed my friend that he was heading to the bank to make payment and that she should assemble the document ready for collection as soon as payment is made. Shortly after that alert came to my friend's phone and few minutes after the alert the customer came and all the paper plus the car was handed over to him and he left. To my friends greatest shock, she went to the bank and could not find any money and the bank said that the alert did not come from them. My friend is planning to go to court with her bank. The advice is that alert is no longer a confirmation of payment. Please let's all be careful when doing transactions especially this season n now in this technology crazy generation.

  The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, yesterday, aborted moves by the House of Representatives to investigate the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, over the allegation that she spent N10 billion on chartered jet. The General Court Martial sitting at the Army Headquarters Garrison in Abuja yesterday sentenced 54 soldiers to death after finding them guilty of mutiny. 59 soldiers were on trial on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy to commit mutiny and mutiny. Four of them were however acquitted. While the judgment was going on, stern looking soldiers posted at the entry gate into the Mogadishu Barracks, turned back journalists saying they had instructions not to allow the media into the barracks.

A 27-year-old woman, Lucy Gbagyo, has died after jumping from a speeding commercial bus in the Shogunle area of Lagos State. The Benue State indigene was said to be on her way to see her fiancé, Philip Nguhwa, on Sunday evening for preparations for their wedding when the incident happened. Our correspondent gathered that Gbagyo and Nguhwa were to have their wedding on February 27, 2015, having courted for four years.

The Lagos State Police Command has detained two Fulani herdsmen, Mohammed Umar and Manu Hassan, for allegedly robbing motorists on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Our correspondent learnt that Umar and Hassan, who were herdsmen from the Ngaski area of Kebbi State, were arrested by soldiers attached to the OP MESA while they were robbing some people. A Georgia mom who allegedly   left her five little boys, the youngest of whom was 3, alone in the house   while she went out has been arrested and charged with murder after   two of her youngest children died in a house fire .  Rockell Coleman, 28, reportedly left her kids by themselves so that she could go out to a restaurant with friends. When a fire broke out at their house that night, sons Jarvis, 10, AJ, 9, and Shamari, 5, survived, but 4-year-old Preston and 3-year-old Haskel were killed in the blaze.

The female passenger, from China, attacked the flight attendant with a cup of noodles in a violent row that began when she found out that she wouldn't be sitting next to her boyfriend on a charter flight from Bangkok to Nanjing, China.
