Delta councillor allegedly shot by herdsmen dies after two surgeries
The Councillor representing Ward 5 in the Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Jude Adjekpogu, who was shot by suspected Fulani herdsmen 13 days ago is dead.
The councillor died in the early hours of Thursday at Warri, where he was receiving treatment in a private hospital.
The Chairman of Ethiope East LGA, Victor Ofobrukueta, while confirming the development to journalists, said the councillor passed on after undergoing two surgeries.
“They did two operations on him because the gunshots affected his spinal cord, kidney and intestine,” the chairman stated.
Adjekpogu was shot on Saturday, December 4, 2021, along the Eku-Abraka Road by suspected herdsmen as he was driving home from a social function.
