Buhari appoints dead police chief, priest as board members



Late Senator Francis Okpozo is not the only dead person, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed onto governing boards of agencies and para state agencies on Friday, checks show.

The president  named "eminently qualified Nigerians" to fill the board positions, numbering 209 chairmen and 1,258 members.

 Among them is Okpozo, who died December 26 last year in Benin City, now appointed to chair the board of the Nigerian Press Council.




Further checks show that retired Deputy Inspector General of Police and elder statesman, Donald Ugbaja, who died in November, was appointed member of Consumer Protection Council.

The late founder of Fidei Polytechnic, Rev Fr Christopher Utov, who died in March this year, was also appointed as member of Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research.
