APC sweeps Lagos council polls
The All Progressives Congress (APC) appear to have
won the council election held in 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas ( LCDAS)
on Saturday.
As at last night, the state Independent Electoral
Commission (LASIEC) had not formally declared the results but results from
various LGAs and LCDAs saw APC coasting to victory.
Results declared showed that the APC took several
LGAs and LCDAs including Ojokoro, Eti Osa, Lagos Island, Ajeromi- Ifelodun,
Badagry Central, Onigbongbo, Odiolowo/Ojuwoye, Ikorodu West, Ejigbo, Ikeja,
Ikorodu, Epe, Lagos Island East, Badagry West, Surulere, Ikorodu Central,
Ikoyi/Obalende, Agboyi-Ketu, Eredo and others.
In Epe LGA, APC won with 21,401 votes while LP got
948 votes. APC emerged victorious in Lagos Island East LCDA with 9,060 votes
while PDP got 1,128 votes. In Badagry West, APC swept the LCDA with 5,300 votes
leaving PDP with 935 votes. Similarly, in Ejigbo LCDA, APC won 4,876 votes
while PDP won 1,079 votes. In Ikeja LG, APC got 6,191 votes while PDP won 990
votes. APC won Ikorodu West LCDA with 3,068 votes while PDP got 555.
In Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, APC got 10,701 votes, while
PDP got 1,759. Other results were being awaited as at press time.
