How ex-NIMASA DG, Akpobolokemi paid N40m rent for an apartment – EFCC tells court
A prosecution witness, Orji Chukwuma, has informed a Federal High Court in Lagos that former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Patrick Akpolobokemi, paid N40m rent for an apartment in Banana Island in the state.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had charged Akpolobokemi alongside three others to court over alleged N8.5 billion fraud.

Chukwuma, on
Wednesday tendered the receipt which covered a two year tenancy before the
court as evidence.
ccording to the witness, Akpolobokemi paid
the N40m in three tranches of N12m; N14m and N14m respectively.
Meanwhile, a prosecution witness,
Teslim Ajuwon, had on Tuesday informed the court of how the former NIMASA
fraudulently transferred N8.5 billion into the account of the military Joint Task
Force, MJTF, in the Niger Delta –“Operation Puelo Shield’’,
within nine months.
