Deputy Chairman, Prince Peter, who spoke during a press briefing in Port
Harcourt, said the party received with shock the death of Atsuwete, who he
described as an erudite advocate of the masses and good governance.
He said the deceased, before his death, confided in some of his associates that he had been receiving series of threat messages from unknown persons, and wondered how he would have been murdered few days after he alerted friends about threat to his life.
“The lawyer before his brutal murder was handling a case involving one of our members, a former council chairman, Flag Amachree. He had put up his entire defense in the matter before he was killed.”
