PDP Senators kick as Omogunwa defects to APC
The senator representing Ondo South Senatorial district, Yela Omogunwa has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a letter which was read by Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on the floor of the Senate, Omofunwa thank members of his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, while explaining that the defection would enable him work with the newly-elected governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu.

He added that he has consulted widely with members of his constituency before taking the decision.
He was immediately asked to relocate to the APC row amidst
cheers from the APC senators.
Reacting to the development, the
Senate Minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, through a point of order,
sought to declare Omogunwa’s seat vacant.
Akpabio explained that there was
no crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party as claimed by the defected member.
