Man commits suicide in Ondo
A man, Damilola Ibitokun,
has committed suicide, as his body was found on a tree in a bush at Ero town in
the Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.
His family members described the
incident as a mystery, saying nobody could explain why the man hung himself.
The deceased’s wife, Muibat Ibitokun,
said her husband was gentle, adding that he had no reason to take his life.
She said, “He and I have been sleeping
in our church. But on Tuesday, he told me that he wanted to sleep at home. So I
left for the church alone. At about 1am, he came to the church. .
“Later, he went back home; but in the
morning of Wednesday, our neighbours told me that they could not find him. We
reported the matter at the police station and later we went into the bush where
we found him hanging. “
The deceased’s son, Ayomide Ibitokun,
said he saw his dad with a rope and knife, but he did not know the he was going
to kill himself.
The state Police Public Relations
Officer, Mr Wole Ogodo said he had yet to be briefed on the matter.
