Released by Taliban spokesman Mohammad Khurasani, the photograph (main image) shows six heavily armed men posing in front of a white Islamic banner shortly before the attack in Peshawar, Pakistan. 

In an email released this morning, Khurasani attempted to justify the massacre by claiming that said the Pakistani army has long killed the innocent children and families of Taliban fighters. 

He vowed more such militant attacks and told Pakistani civilians to detach themselves from all military institution. 

Among the victims of the slaughter are Rafiq Bangash (top inset image, left, and bottom inset image second from left) Mubeen Shah Afreedi (top inset image, right), Talha Munur Paracha (bottom left), Hassan Javed Khan (bottom, second from right) and Muhammad Yasseen (bottom right)
