On the day £11million signing Mohamed Salah trained for the first time and 19-year-old Kurt Zouma also completed his £12.5million move, Mourinho hinted that while some clubs were adjusting their spending patterns accordingly others were still spending heavily on transfers and simply finding imaginative ways to mask their spending.

swipe at Manchester City’s 'dodgy' approach to the transfer market as the
January window swung shut.
Without mentioning Monday’s
opponents by name, Mourinho claimed not all clubs were showing the same
commitment to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations as others.
